The construction industry is an important industry for the economic development of developing countries. However, it faces numerous challenges, including a lack of research and development, inadequate safety training, rising building costs, and client dissatisfaction. This study focuses on the construction industry in Peshawar, a developing city in Pakistan, to explore “the influence of national culture on construction safety and climate”. The research design combines quantitative and qualitative methods, including surveys, interviews, and observations. The findings reveal workers' perceptions of risks and their preferred behaviors in different work scenarios. Site managers emphasize the importance of following safety protocols, providing training, and conducting regular inspections. The results highlights the need for a strong safety culture and provide recommendations for improving safety practices. Future research should focus on longitudinal and comparative studies, intervention programs, technological innovations, stakeholder collaboration, and continuous improvement to enhance construction safety. Implementing these recommendations can lead to a safer working environment and improved safety practices in the construction industry in Peshawar and beyond.
